Sexual Abuse

If you or your child has been a victim of sexual abuse, you may have rights and remedies through our criminal justice system and civil justice system. Sexual abuse is wrongful sexual contact with either a child or an adult. Women and children are the most common victims of sexual abuse, which is characterized by a lack of consent. However, the mentally or physically disabled adults can be vulnerable victims of sexual abuse as well.
